Young people all around the world are in search for something, the problem is they are not quite sure what exactly they are searching for.

Many adults say it is time for the young people to tell the adults what they want so the adults can better understand their plight and render some help.

It is very evident that most young people have not a clue as to what they want to do or where they would like to be going; therefore it must be the responsibility of the adults to show them the way.

I go back to the bible, “Proverbs 22:6; Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. This is very profound, these instructions were not left to chance they are specific and to the point. The adults whether parent, guardians or teacher, it is our responsibility to teach the children giving them the needed tools for each journey ahead.

We must admit the ugly truth; we have failed in our responsibilities as guardians of God’s precious gifts to us. It is easier for parents to take the low road and make excuses than for them to hear God’s commands and follow through by doing exactly what is required.

Anything and almost everything children desire to help them fit in is our worldly lifestyle parents are willing to supply without question. We are at a point in this life where children are the major decision makers in many homes where adults’ sits as fathers and mothers also are the bread winners for these homes.

Of course we must pay attention to the story in the book of Genesis chapter 18, where it records the overthrowing of Sodom and Gomorrah; it was because sin had gotten to a point where God was angry. The inhabitants of the city were going about doing things their way and give no time or respect for God’s way of life.

We are at that very same point in our world; we are doing our own thing and not teaching or practicing the way of the bible. The big question one will ask after seeing all that is taking place in our time, “is God about open the flood gates on us as a people and nation?’

No matter where you are on these thoughts or your position concerning the direction our young people are going, one thing I am certain of , young people who are instructed in the way of the bible and God fear much better in life.

As director of our youth department I am pleased to say that for many years we at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church has taught our children and those coming to us to share in our youth fellowship, that a life in Christ is more meaningful.

We have always make sure that all our programming are centered on God and His son Jesus Christ, the bible and all its’ values.

We believe in the forgiveness of sin and the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, also that He is coming back again to claim those who have trusted in Him for the pardoning f their sins.

I encourage you to come and join our fellowship; we meet every Friday at our church from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. If you are an adult who is a born again child of God and wish to contribute to our fellowship in some way, please contact me at my cell 340-514-8741 or you can email me at erfahie@bethelvi.com.
